Coul Homie Quan announces break from Rich Gang and wrestling - Young Thug responds with Fool Homie Quan diss
Written by Dwayne Carter - November 25th 2015
The whereabouts of Coulrophobia this season has been an unsolved mystery which is increasingly on the minds of TTF fans, but not for long. It has emerged that Coulrophobia has revealed he's stepping away from both Rich Gang and wrestling - much to the displeasure of his partner Young Thug.
Last season Rich Gang ended on a high note with both members going undefeated and Coulrophobia winning the Fire Championship, as well as dropping off a new track with frequent collaborator Young Thug at the end of the season. However, those frequent collaborations may slow down a minute as Coul Homie Quan says in a recent interview that despite Rich Gang's shared success, he's going to be focusing on his solo music.
During an interview with TWG radio station Hot 109.7, the rapper/wrestler happens to mention off-air that he'll be stepping away from his Rich Gang duties as he preps his long-delayed debut album. "I have been focusing more on myself, I've stepped away from Rich Gang a little bit just to get back to Quan. The people want Quan back" he says to the Derty Boiiz. "It's cool for the moment."
"It's been so long since I dropped a mixtape...it's time for TWG and the world to know that Quan has improved and it's a new sound here. This new sound honestly, I feel as if I had me a Grammy bro," Coul Homie Quan continued to say on-air. It sounds like we can expect a free album from him shortly.
Apparently in response, Young Thug dropped Coul Homie Quan's name as a diss at a recent live show and then backtracked on TWG Chat, claiming there's no beef between him and the TWG rapper.
While onstage during a stop on his tour with $cott Travis, Young Thug seems to reference Coul Homie Quan's public statement about stepping away from Rich Gang before calling him a "stupid lame" and then worse.
"Speaking of horses," Thug says. "You saw the [censored] video, man. This stupid lame, that nebro tripping. That Fool Homie Quan."
Quan recently appeared at TWG's government-mandated New Engine launch party to say he was “hurt” by Thug’s remarks. Speaking with HawtNewHipHawp in Austin, Coul Homie Quan acknowledged the slight but kept cool when speaking about his working relationship with Young Thug.
“My first reaction was ‘My brother called me Fool Homie Quan?’ I took my glasses off because – not to get in my feelings – it hurt,” he said. “I would never disrespect you when he have each other number. It’s certain stuff you do and certain stuff you don’t do. It’s a certain way you do things. That’s not one of the ways I would’ve done it.”
"I didn't announce it to create conflict," Coul said of his decision to shy away from Rich Gang. "I don't know if it created conflict but it is what it is...When I said it people just blowed it out of proportion. I never said I wasn't gonna do the Rich Gang thing I said I was gonna focus on myself a little bit more. Rich Gang my family. Thugger, that's my brother. Everybody know that."
When asked directly about why Young Thug reacted the way he did publicly, Coul Homie Quan said, "I don't know." "But at the same time I wish Thugger the best, success," he added. "Just gon' leave it at that."
